STRATEGY

As the world’s major urban centers expand, keeping citizens mobile is becoming a major challenge for municipal authorities. Public transport is one of the most economical and environmentally sensitive policy options for solving the mobility equation in urban areas – and a fare collection system that is easy to use and secure is one of the keys to success. It can provide city authorities with the additional leverage they need to convince citizens to leave their cars at home and take public transport. One of their arguments might be undoubtedly a flexible, low-cost and ease-of-use payment system.

KJFS provides insights to the latest, state-of-the-art trends in e-parking, e-tolling, e-ticketing & integrated e-transportation solutions worldwide. We develop a strategy for a mobility platform together with valuable stakeholders.

FEASIBILITY

In urban areas, the level of public transportation fares should be such that the total revenue earned by a public transport service is sufficient to cover the full cost of providing it plus a reasonable profit. This principle would be fine if public transport were operated as a fully commercial service. But this is not the case in the majority of cities/regions where public transportation is at the authority's initiative and is implemented pursuing social objectives. Consequently, public transport price policy should find the right balance between several sometimes contradictory goals.

Feasibility of the iMobility solutions lies not only in profitable business models but also keeping balance among authority, operators, and passengers. KJFS provides feasibility studies and coordination between all parts involved.

DESIGN

iMobility is not only a complex solution for urban areas but also a unique experience for the customers. It might fully change their approach toward the public transport and the environmentally friendly individual vehicles. We design the whole IT Architecture for intermodal mobility platforms together with valuable stakeholders. We support mobility providers & operators in the integration of their systems into a unique payment platform for all mobility means. With our excellent UX & UI experience, we design and develop attractive, ease-to-use apps for iMobility, including an integrated e-parking, e-tolling, e-ticketing, and e-transportation system.

OUR STORY

KJ IFS was founded in 2007 by Dr János Kóka, a well-known Hungarian IT entrepreneur, investor and public servant, after having left the position in the Government of Hungary. In his capacity as a minister of economy and transportation, The Ministry of Economy and Transport under Dr Kóka's tenure as a minister between 2004 and 2007 transformed the Hungarian toll gate and vignette-based hybrid highway toll system into a fully digital multi-lane free-flow system using "virtual vignettes". Dr János Kóka was responsible, amongst others for the introduction of integrated, intermodal transportation solutions, railways e-ticketing, mobile parking. Since 2010, he has been participating in planning and counselling various digital transportation solutions in different geographies.
